Reason # 48: Character summary
Why do we need to defeat Donald Trump and ensure that a Democrat occupies the White House?
I have spent an inordinate amount of time examining the family influences, youth, education, personality, character, behavior and business career of Donald Trump.
He was a dysfunctional, problem teenager who was sent off to boarding school for discipline. We learned that he was a mediocre athlete who claims, against all contravening evidence, to have had the ability to play professional baseball.
He has been accused of cheating on the SAT exam in order to gain admission to U. of Pennsylvania. His academic record there was undistinguished. He did not go to graduate, school, serve in the military or ever hold a public position elected or otherwise.
He began post graduate life as a spoiled brat, working for his daddy for a million dollars a year at age 23. His personal behavior as a high society playboy contains a long list of allegations of sexual misconduct including a public friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. He has been widely accused of cheating on his golf scores. There is a copious public record showing that he is grandiloquent, grandiose, and so prone to fanciful lies as to qualify for a Munchausen award. When he inevitably makes mistakes, he never admits them, blames others, fires them and never apologizes. These personal characteristics inevitably impact badly on his conduct of business, as reflected in the loss of the PGA Grand Masters tournament and renaming of Trump SoHo in retaliatory boycotts following his inexcusable slurs of Mexicans.
His early and continuing professional career is blotted by multiple, business loan document irregularities, indebtedness, bankruptcies and failure to honor contracts or personal debts. His business career is dotted with multiple catastrophic business failures including multiple dueling casino bankruptcies, loss of a two hundred foot yacht and an airline. Indebtedness, featuring losses totaling billions. His investors and creditors suffered enormously, while Trump often escapes the consequences of his losses, including more than $900 millions in tax write-offs, more than $300 million in a tax abatement from New York City and a tax forgiveness of $25 million in taxes owed that State of New Jersey. He pays less taxes than an average lower middle class taxpayer. Finally, he bullies and humiliates the weak and even was cruel enough to demand that fourteen-year-old boys be executed for a crime they did not commit.
The bottom line is that a perfect storm of mediocre intelligence, unwillingness to listen to others or learn from mistakes, multiple character, personality and behavior defects, left him singularly incompetent to serve in the complex and difficult job of President of the United States. Nevertheless, a combination of a weak effort by Democrats and a credulous electorate on the right resulted in his election in 2016, despite his losing the popular vote by more than three million votes. In summary, there is no possible way that DJT was qualified to serve effectively as POTUS and many reasons to suspect that he would be an awful president.
Starting tomorrow, we will begin to dissect Donald Trump’s actions in the office of POTUS and try to help readers understand how – entirely predictably -, his wrongheaded decisions in office resulted in catastrophic consequences for our nation and its citizens.
Please return tomorrow to begin this process.
It was a terrible decision to vote for Donald Trump in 2016. Please don’t make the same mistake a second time.
Have a heart; use your mind, search your conscience, and vote for Democratic candidates – across the ballot – on November. 5th.
Please share this message with your friends and please, add your thoughts, to expand upon what are only brief sketches here.
