Reason # 51: With Friends Like These
Why do we need to defeat Donald Trump and ensure that a Democrat occupies the White House?
“·Be careful of false prophets. They come to you ·looking gentle like sheep but ·they are really dangerous like wolves.” Matthew 7:15
After Donald Trump and Sean Spicer had handled the critically important task of rigging the photographs of the inaugural crowd, they would next take on the critical task of appointing the best possible people to sit on the Trump cabinet.
Let’s start with Alexander Acosta – Secretary of Labor. Acosta had a long and distinguished record and was highly qualified for the appointment, except for one enormous stain on his career. He had cut a deal with Jeffery Epstein that allowed the child predator and sex-trafficker to serve only a short sentence and return to society and his previous criminal pattern of sexual assaults on young girls. Epstein was a friend and neighbor of Donald Trump. Acosta was replaced in 2019 by Eugene Scalia, son of Antonin Scalia, a man with a long track record of favoring employers over workers.
Next, meet Linda McMahon, Administrator of the Small Business Administration. She was a professional female wrestler who became a multimillionaire by developing Worldwide Wrestling Enterprises, with her husband Vince McMahon. He’s a sweetheart too, but that is a story for another day. During their leadership, 40% of professional wrestlers in their association tested positive for steroid use.
Ben Carson became Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
He was a brilliant academic neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University for many years, retiring in 2013. He had zero experience in the field of his cabinet appointment.
Wilbur Ross, Secretary of Commerce, was widely known as the “King of Bankruptcy” and helped structure a deal that allowed Donald Trump to (at least temporarily) keep control of his three hemorrhaging casinos in Atlantic City NJ. He was accused by mine workers of ignoring safety regulations, contributing to the death of twelve miners in “the Sago disaster”. He has been involved in a long laundry list of scandals and business irregularities, including insider trading, siphoning profits from business partners, overcharging fees, contempt of Congress and sleeping during cabinet meetings. The Trump Department of Justice declined to prosecute him for perjury during Senate hearings in 2021.
That’s about all of the bungling and sleaze I can deal with tonight.
Of critical importance, only four of the 44 people who served on Trump’s cabinet have endorsed him for another term as POTUS.

Rumors suggest that many were willing to remove him as executive under the terms of the 25th Amendment.
Are you really considering a vote for a man who installed a clown-car cabinet? If he is reelected, the next cabinet will be far worse.

Have a heart; use your mind, search your conscience, and vote for Democratic candidates – across the ballot – on November. 5th.
